Festivals and food go hand in hand! And every special day has a special menu attached to it. Easter is around the corner and much like any other festival, the main attraction is mostly going to be the food. With a wide array of dishes on the table, not many can resist the Easter feast. 

So we thought, how about reveal the secret recipes for some delicious Easter dishes and help you put together a feast for your family and friends! 

So here are 3 delicious Easter dishes for you to master and impress others with your culinary skills!

  1. Honey Glazed Ham

Easter feasts are known for their traditional ham and we just couldn’t resist putting this scrumptious dish on the menu.

What you need:

  • 1 fully-cooked, bone-in ham
  • 1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 large orange, juiced and zested
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

All you need to do:

  • 1 fully-cooked, bone-in ham
  • 1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar

    2. Broccoli Cheese Quiche

Start off the meal with the delicious Broccoli Cheese Quiche! Nothing spells festivities like homemade quiches.

What you need: 

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (about a ½ pound)
  • 5 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk I used whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 9-inch whole-wheat pie crust

All you need to do:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Roll out pie crust, if not already shaped, and chill until ready to use.
  • Place 1-2 cups water in the bottom of a small pot. Add the broccoli, cover, and bring to a boil. Cook the broccoli until crisp-tender, about 4 minutes. Transfer broccoli to a colander, rinse with cool water and drain. Chop broccoli into small pieces.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Stir in the chopped broccoli and cheddar cheese. Pour into the prepared pie shell.
  • Bake quiche for 35-40 minutes, until eggs are set in the centre. Check on quiche starting at 25 minutes and tent with foil if the crust is browning too quickly.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

    3. The Good Old Carrot Cake

No feast is ever complete without some great dessert. So to indulge your sweet tooth this easter we have the delish Carrot Cake which is a slice from heaven!

What you need:

FOR THE CAKE

  • Cooking spray
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 3 c. grated carrots
  • 1 c. pecans, roughly chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 1 c. raisins

FOR THE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

  • 1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 4 c. powdered sugar

All you need to do:

  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease 2 – 8″ round cake pans with cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  • In another large bowl with a hand mixer (or in the bowl of a stand mixer), beat together sugar and oil until well combined. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition, then add vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in carrots, pecans, and raisins.
  • Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean, 45 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes then invert cakes onto a cooling rack and let cool completely.
  • Make the frosting: In a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add vanilla and powdered sugar and beat again until smooth and spreadable consistency.
  • Frost cake as desired and garnish with pecans.
