The holiday season is here! It’s time to say goodbye to your diet until new year resolutions. Get ready to stuff as many mouthwatering desserts as you can because you’ve earned it. Here are some classic holiday desserts you shouldn’t miss and give a try making them at home. Let’s start the journey of deliciousness. 

  1. Plum cake

When you think of Christmas desserts, the first obvious one is cake. Christmas and plum cake are synonymous. This holiday dessert is an all-time classic, and of course for a very valid reason – coz who doesn’t like eating cakes in the festive season, right! The plum cake includes a wide range of cakes made with either dried fruits, like raisins or currants or with fresh fruits. Its slightly bitter taste with dense texture is simply intoxicating and irresistible.

  1. Gingerbread

Christmas is incomplete without following the tradition of making a gingerbread house with cute li’l gingerbread men. The house is made using pieces of gingerbread dough and assembled with melted sugar. The house is decorated with icing to bring on the snowy effect. Gingerbread house is usually for decoration purposes, but if you want to have a taste, you can try yummy gingerbread flavoured cookies, cakes, bars, and ice creams.

Fill up your favourite coloured fillings in pipings and get creative as you decorate these cookies with elegant beautiful designs.

Another Christmas mandate on the list is the eggnog. This eggy, creamy, delicious holiday drink couldn’t be a better fit for the classic French custard. You can even make eggnogs a couple of days before and refrigerate them. Take it out at the time of the feast, top it with sugar brûlée and serve them.

  1. Chocolate truffle

No one can say to a yummy gooey chocolate truffle. Filled with chocolate spread and sauce, these are not just chocolate balls but balls of love, warmth, and holiday spirit. There are endless ways of making a truffle. You can cover it in nuts, candy, cookies, basically, add anything you want in it. Once you have one truffle, there’s no going back, hence, the perfect special treat for the holidays.
